Overview
Automatically add synthetic shipment activity to fill gaps in transport data.
Auto-routing
When detailed shipment data is unavailable, auto-assist automatically determines missing transport legs for air and sea shipments based on the provided origin, destination, and transport mode.
Example
Instead of manually specifying every leg, you can simply provide high-level shipment details:
For a shipment from Brussels, Belgium, to Dallas, TX, USA, by sea.
Auto-routing will:
Identify the nearest suitable seaport for Brussels.
Identify the nearest suitable seaport for Dallas, TX.
Automatically add pre- and on-carriage road legs to connect the shipment to/from these ports.
Auto-transshipment
Automatically inserts hub operations for multi-leg shipments when changing transport modes, ensuring a comprehensive view of shipment activity.
Example
When a multi-leg shipment involves switching between different transport modes or vehicles, Pledge inserts hub operations to account for these transitions:
For a shipment from London to the Port of Southampton by road, then from the Port of Southampton to the Port of Manila by sea.
Auto-transshipment will then:
Identify when a shipment load has switched between transport modes (e.g., road to sea).
Automatically add transshipment operations based on the nature of the previous and next transport legs.
